Lois Barth
Leadership & Executive Coach
Mid to Senior Leadership, C-Suite, Founders
Location: New York, NY (Eastern)
Experience/Qualifications: I am a Human Development Expert, Speaker, Life, Business, and Leadership Coach, and author of the book, Courage to SPARKLE. I see the Courage to SPARKLE as a metaphor to shine bright, share your gifts, and make a difference.
I work with heart-centered go-getters & mission-centered leaders who crave greater meaning, fulfillment, and impact in their lives so they can thrive personally and professionally.
I coined the term, "Behavioral Wellness Meets Professional Development." I have been the makeover life coach for SELF Magazine; Fitness Magazine and Fit Blog (Sears) which to-date, three million people registered for.
I’ve been quoted and published in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and SELF Magazine, to name a few. My speaking clients include Capital One Bank, L'Oreal, Women in Banking, Entrepreneurial Organization, NYU Langone, Women in Trucking, and the American Heart Association amongst many others.
My background as a massage therapist and actor informs my body-mind approach (light centering/breath work when useful). Humor is one of my superpowers — I can hold difficult conversations with warmth and playfulness so people stay open instead of defensive. Former stand-up comic, so I tend to speak in sticky soundbites people carry with them. I’m also wildly curious so I find it fascinating learning about people and tying things they’ve told me months ago to something they just said.
Assessments and Certifications I use in my practice: I’m ICF-PCC certified in Executive and Life Coaching and have been a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator for many years. A recent training had us map our coaching mix, and mine landed at 40% coaching (unearthing client insights), 40% consulting (strategic feedback and tools), and 20% mentorship (celebration and encouragement). That blend feels exactly right.
Area of Expertise: Relationship coaching, self-esteem, speaking up, advocacy, and helping people move from self-criticism to curiosity. Whole Life Coaching.
Coaching Philosophy: My philosophy is simple: Mindset + methodology = maximum results. I’m about deep listening, smart questions, clear action, celebrating wins, and helping clients replicate what works. I believe in stretch, don’t break — especially right now when people are flooded. Growth should feel exciting and sustainable.
How I Measure Success:
What I’m Known For As a Coach: Having coached over 800 clients and spoken to thousands of people, I am known for offering both practical and powerful solutions through humor, storytelling, metaphor, and brain science.
I help people overcome their negative self-talk, effectively deal with stress, communicate more powerfully, take inspired actions, and as a result, build healthy and effective teams and create a life that lights them up.
Hobbies/Interests: I’m a lifelong learner (brain science fascinates me), love deep conversations with strangers, storytelling, dancing (Zumba, jazz, hip hop), thrift shops, and I proudly identify as neuro-spicy (ADD + creative/structured brain combo).
