Debbie Chueh

Facilitator / Coach
New Managers

Location/Time zone: New York, NY; Eastern Time

Experience/Qualifications: I've always been fascinated by people - what lights us up, what makes us tick, and what gets in our own way (sometimes without us even realizing it!). As an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a background in psychology, leadership development, and facilitation, I love helping people connect the dots, see familiar challenges through a new lens, and discover possibilities they hadn't considered.

My coaching spans leadership development, communication, confidence, career transitions, navigating uncertainty, and personal transformation. I take a whole-person approach because who we are at work and who we are outside of work aren't two separate people. I bring together psychological insight, deep curiosity, intuition, compassionate challenge, and practical action. I also draw on my leadership development experience to share practical management tools, research-informed frameworks, and strategies that clients can put to work right away.

Some of my favorite moments are when a conversation takes an unexpected turn and a client suddenly realizes, "Wait a minute... That's what's been going on!" Those discoveries can change everything.

I hold a BA in Psychology and Journalism from New York University.

Assessments and Certifications I use in my practice: ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) | DISC | CliftonStrengths | Various Leadership and Communication Frameworks

Area of Expertise: I especially enjoy working with new managers who are curious about themselves and willing to look beneath the surface. My ideal clients are reflective, open-minded, and up for self-exploration - even when the answers surprise them. Together, we explore leadership identity, underlying beliefs, patterns, and what it really takes to grow into their next chapter.

Coaching Philosophy: I believe people are wonderfully complex, resourceful, and often wiser than they give themselves credit for. My approach blends the art of coaching with the practical side of leadership development. I believe in the power of a good question - and sometimes, a really useful framework! I help clients discover their own insights while offering tools, perspectives, and strategies when helpful. We'll explore the practical and the personal, the logical and the intuitive, and sometimes the questions underneath the questions.

How I Measure Success: We get clear on what matters, set meaningful goals, and check in on what's changing. I celebrate tangible progress as much as those quieter breakthroughs - a fresh perspective, a courageous conversation, or a moment when something finally clicks.

What I’m Known For As a Coach: Helping people feel at ease, genuinely seen, and comfortable opening up - sometimes surprisingly quickly! I listen for what's said, what's not being said, and the little clues in between. I bring warmth, curiosity, intuition, and the occasional unexpected question that makes someone pause, laugh, and say, "Huh, I've never thought about that before."

Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, storytelling, immersive theater, meaningful conversations that somehow turn into 2-hour conversations, and adventures with my cream-colored Shiba Inu rescue dog (who has very strong ideas about which direction we should walk).
