Course Description

In this highly hands-on session, you’ll have a safe space to practice your presentation skills in front of others and receive immediate feedback from your peers. Maybe your goal is to get over your nervousness, or maybe you want advanced tricks that set you apart from other people. This workshop has something for everyone at all levels.

Audience: All Employees
Duration: 2 hours

Learning objectives include:

  • Logically organize your thoughts and tailor your message to your specific audience

  • Overcome your nervousness with psychological and physiological tricks professional speakers use

  • Demonstrate confidence through word choice, voice, and gestures while controlling the audience’s attention

  • Increase audience engagement by asking and answering thought-provoking questions

  • Tactfully handle different characters and distractions that may potentially sidetrack you

Learning Agenda

  • Tailoring your message: know your audience and how to customize your presentation to grab their attention and take action

  • Creating cues: make it easier for you to remember what to say

  • Crushing anxiety: we all get nervous, and it’s all about managing our anxiety

  • Showing confidence: learn what you can say and do to show confidence (even if you are nervous as heck!)

  • Keeping them engaged: learn how to involve the audience and keep them on their toes

What to Expect

  • Practice, practice, practice. It’s not a presentation class unless you get the opportunity to present in front of others. There will be plenty of chances for everyone to practice in small and large groups.

  • It won’t feel like 2 hours: This is a fast-paced course with plenty of interaction.

  • Be ready for interaction: There will be plenty of activities throughout the training using Zoom annotations, open discussion, chat, self-reflection, role-playing, and breakout sessions. All participants will receive an Activity Handout and an abbreviated version of the training deck.
