Overview

Ever wonder if you’re getting this whole management thing down? Maybe you got promoted because you’re really good at what you do technically but realized that the people-side of things is a whole different animal. In this workshop, we’ll highlight the central themes all managers (no matter your level of experience) should incorporate in their practice to build productive and effective teams.

Audience: Managers (or aspiring Managers)
Duration: 2 hours
Cost per seat: $200
# of Seats Available: 2

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the mindset shift of a manager and where to allocate your time wisely

  • Build a positive and inclusive team culture to increase employee productivity and performance

  • Establish specific and measurable goals that excite employees with meaningful work

  • Hold effective 1:1 meetings that focus on coaching and development

  • Effectively prioritize your team’s workload and delegate where necessary

The Focal Point

What is your role as a manager? To the employee, you equal the company. Nobody affects the employee’s experience of work more than their manager—that’s why you often hear that employees don’t leave the company, they leave their boss.

This management training centers around how managers can establish a culture of trust and psychological safety before being able to effectively manage a team. We discuss the importance of transparency and managing expectations. If the employee’s expectations of work have been met, then they’ll have a positive experience at work. Furthermore, if they have a strong experience at work, then they’ll become more productive at work.

Learning Agenda

  • Building a Positive Culture: create a team culture where employees can thrive, be productive, and contribute fully

  • The 101 on 1:1’s: learn how to make the best use of these recurring meetings by focusing on coaching and development

  • To Delegate or Not to Delegate: optimize your output by leveraging your team’s expertise

  • The Foundations of Feedback: make quick adjustments to your feedback style to make it more effective

  • What Would You Do?: apply what you’ve learned in these real-world scenarios

What to Expect
